THE BIRTH

In consultation with your doctor, our nursing team will do their utmost to ensure that your birth will be a profound and personal experience. To this end, we offer a complete range of modern obstetrics services. At the St. Anna Clinic, you will find the perfect environment to both welcome your newborn child to the world and to experience, as a family, a joyful start to your new life together.

Wellbeing and security
Our newly designed Birth Rooms are at your service around the clock. Wherever possible, our experienced midwives will respond to your every need during the birth. A range of aids, such as a bathtub, Maya birth stool, birth mat, suspension rope and a birth bed will be at your disposal.

Your private doctor will oversee an optimum provision of medical care. A competent Anaesthetics team is available at the St. Anna Clinic around the clock. Emergency procedures, such as a Caesarean section, can therefore be performed at any time and without delay.

Alleviating pain
Our midwives will support you in the alleviation of pain with a range of methods. Traditional medication does not always have to be used immediately. Homeopathic treatments, aromatherapy and massage can also contribute to the relief of pain. We would be happy to provide you with information concerning the option of peridural or spinal anaesthesia.

Prepared for all eventualities
Every newborn child will be examined after the birth by our paediatricians. In the case of premature birth or other complications, we work in close cooperation with the Lucerne Children’s Hospital. Thanks to our well-qualified personnel and the clinic’s modern infrastructure, the treatment and monitoring of newborn children are generally carried out at the clinic’s own facilities.
