The foundations of today’s clinic were laid with the Maternity Ward established almost 100 years agoby the Society of St. Anna Sisters in Lucerne. Step by step, the St. Anna Clinic evolved into an innovative private hospital and today boasts an international management. The clinic was one of the first in Switzerland to be certified as a breastfeeding-friendly clinic by UNICEF in 1999 and was successfully recertified in 2004. Around 700 come into the world at the St. Anna Clinic every year.
